Dr. Charles Coates Fernández / General Practitioner
Dr. Charles Coates Fernández, a native of Panamá, received a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Louisiana State University, USA, and earned his Doctor of Medicine at Universidad Latina de Panamá. Dr. Coates completed his internship at Hospital Santo Tomás and Hospital Aquilino Tejeira in Coclé where he served as chief of interns. He is certified as a General Practitioner by the Panamanian Board of Medicine and is both fluent in English and Spanish. In the last 13 years I have been studying the human body and 7 of them investigating, studying and applying the knowledge about the origin of diseases and aches that torment the population in general. As a physician my objective is to promote health and wellbeing teaching people how the human body works and reacts to its environment. When we get to know what we are capable of, we can start evolving to new stages of our lives by altering our perception of life and adding new knowledge with a set goal in mind. A goal that can only be achieved by each and every one of us through the harmonization of our thoughts, feelings and actions. My career path has made me realize that traditional medicine is not enough to completely heal humans. My knowledge in medicine can alleviate your ailments momentarily and maybe indefinitely but the teachings of how the mind works and the information about how the body reacts to your chosen environment, how you think and how you feel will be the basis for a more fruitful life with compassion, joy, love and unlimited possibilities.
Mike Kelly
Founder and CEO
Mike was born and raised in Newport Beach, California. He received his Bachelors degree in International Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 2006. He got his start in the business world as a commercial insurance broker, where he specialized in providing risk management solutions for multinational organizations that were importing and exporting products worldwide.
In 2012 he moved to Panamá and opened Panamedica Medical Center in Panama Pacifico, a primary care medical clinic focused on providing occupational healthcare solutions to the many multinational companies in the area. It has since grown into a top class medical facility that serves not only the many businesses in the area but also the growing and diverse residential community of Panama Pacifico.
In 2019, due to the growing expat community in Panama and increased need for English speaking medical professionals, Mike assembled a team of bilingual doctors and a network of clinical laboratories throughout Panama and Expat Health Services was born. The only company in Panama dedicated to providing healthcare solutions for English speaking expats, they are now a trusted healthcare provider for both expats and Panamanians throughout the country.
